Bilbo Blogger for Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex [deb]

Bilbo Blogger is a blogging application for KDE 4.

A blogging application can find many uses, which range from writing you blog posts when you don’t have access to the internet and uploading them when you are back online, to allowing the really lazy ones (like myself) to avoid having to open the blog’s site.

I could add that at the moment Bilbo Blogger appears to be the only app for KDE tha has a good WordPress and Blogger support, since Konqueror is not so good in that area.

I was expecting something good since one of the authors is the same person that wrote choqoK (a wonderful Microblogging app).

I am really pleased to say that even in the currently unreleased (per alpha?) state the software is already very useful: it has lots of features and allows to write html-rich posts, including adding images or other media. This post has been written with it, without a single crash.

If you want to try the software I would suggest to compile from sources following the instruction kindly provided by einar77 here.

If you don’t like the idea of compiling from sources don’t worry, I have the packages you are looking for!

These packages are built on Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex and KDE 4.2.1 (with QT 4.5), and you are welcome to use them as long as you understad that I am not responsible for what these packages can do to you blog, your pc, your car, your dog or your mom.

Prior to downloading and installing Bilbo Blogger you need to install the latest version of kdelibs and kdepimlibs, and it’a easily done with

sudo apt-get install kdelibs5 kdepimlibs5

Now all you have to do is download the lib and the app respectively here and here and install them by clicking on the downloaded files and confirm when prompted.

Have fun.

Any feedback will be appreciated.
